Mid-year Freak Out: Book Tag

1. Best book read in 2016 so far?
This was insanely difficult to answer, but one does stand out for meee. I know its not really a book but its a Manga adaptation of one so it’ll have to do! Manga Classics: The Scarlet Letter. For the me the best book has to be something that makes me experience something I can remember for a long while after I’ve finished reading it! the-scarlet-letter

2. Best sequel read in 2016 so far?
Ermm, so I just realised I actually haven’t read any sequels this year. AT ALL.

3. New releases you haven’t read yet, but want to.
Ooooo this would have to be Subject 375, it has such an interesting premise. I can’t wait to get to itttttt.

4. Most anticipated releases for the second half of 2016?
THE OTHER EINSTEIN!
Basically its an adult fiction that tells the story of Einsteins wife, how they met and her contributions. I’ve read some glowing reviews on this, and I’m so happy I managed to get an digital copy from Netgalley! It comes out 18 October.

5. Biggest disappointment?
Unbound: Colors of Love. I mean I’m not even going to start on why this was just… My review explains all. It just felt like fan fiction of Fifty Shades of Grey.

6. Biggest surprise?
Wolf by Wolf by Ryan Graudin. Oh man this was soooo good! There are plenty of Historical Fictions based on Nazi Germany but this for me stood out! I guarantee if you read the synopsis you’ll at the least be intrigued.

7. Favorite new author?
Bryn Greenwood. An author that has me scrambling to read another contemporary/coming of age story, has to be a favourite!

8. Newest fictional crush?
OOOO, this has definitely got to be Alessio, ‘Les’, from Assassin’s Heart. I kind of had a moment on twitter when I finished reading the book! My review of that should be up very soon!

9. Newest favorite character?
Gretchen Lowell from Heart Sick, she’s a soft spoken psychopath. Need I say more?

12. Most beautiful book you’ve bought (or received) so far this year?

13. Books you need to read by the end of the year?
I mean have you read my previous post? There’s a shit ton of books I want to read, but probably at the top Harry Potter (gasp). Yes I know I still haven’t gotten to it yet! I’m just so intimidated by the series, I have yet to meet someone who doesn’t like it. I feel lucky that I get to experience it for the first time, but at the same time I want to take my time with it!

  1. The most I know about The Scarlet Letter is Easy A, the Emma Stone movie (damn, I love that movie). Maybe I should give that manga a go. Also, I think it totally counts, book-wise.

Wolf by Wolf is such a good book! I can’t wait for the sequel. The story totally enveloped me in a way that I wasn’t expecting to. I was experiencing some serious book burn-out at the time I read it, and it totally reinvigorated me for reading.
