It’s been a while since my last post (that’s a sentence I rarely use (!)) but it’s only because I’ve been travelling! My parents are originally from Morocco so it’s a bit of a tradition to spend the whole summer here. I live in London and every year we make the journey from there to Morocco, by car… It’s one hell of a journey taking a minimum of two days and includes getting on two different ferries, and that’s just on the way there! But the drive from the north of Spain to the South makes for some great pictures, it’s a shame I’ve never been gifted in photography. Insert a crappy picture that I barely managed to take and does no justice to the actual area:
One of the ferries has a little bookshop so you already know I couldn’t resist picking up a few things! It’s been a while since I’ve actually purchased a book so I think these few items were well deserved… Since it’s a little too late for a July TBR instead I’m going to include some books I’ve received for review at the bottom of this haul!
Books (and bookish things) I’ve purchased:
Books I’ve received for review:
- Moral Dissipation by S. M. Jarvis
- BoyzNite by Xane Fisher
- Upon The Tide by Ryan Jo Summers
- Toru by Stephanie Sorenson
- Falling For The Chance by Kennedy L. Mitchell
Netgalley
- The Loving Husband by Christobel Kent
- Monstress by Marjorie Liu and Sana Takeda
Your travels sound so exotic! You probably don’t notice since you’ve done it so often:)

That’s exactly it, because I’ve been doing this journey for 10+ years it’s pretty normal. But when I come across beautiful sights like those in the picture I realise how grateful I am! 😅😅

Driving through Spain sounds absolutely fantastic, though. 🙂
The book haul looks great too! It’ll be interesting seeing your thoughts on The Hobbit if you review it, and if the cover is anything to go by the art on Monstress looks beautiful.

I’ve heard a LOT about The Hobbit and I can’t wait to read it! The art on the Monstress was honestly the thing that caught my eye!

I’m actually from Tanger! Most Moroccans I know are from Larache 😅

Ha! Maybe it depends on where they moved to in the end :D. I had a blind date with a guy from Tandzja (lord knows why they call it Tanger internationally ^^) once. It didn’t end well XD

I’m sorry it didn’t end well 😅. I’ve actually never come across that spelling before, I’ve only come across Tanger/Tangier!

Oh, that had nothing to do with the fact that he was from Tanger, of course 😀 His mother was measuring my hips to see if I could give him enough children :’). Great stuff on a first date! Yeah, I don’t think that’s an official spelling anywhere, but it’s how you pronounce it right? 😀

Oh dear lord that’s bad 😅😅, I’ve never heard of someone doing that, it’s definitely not a Moroccan thing 😅😅. But yes that is how it would be pronounce 🙂
